I collaborated with Refinery29 to inspire an important social conversation. Our project highlights going to prom as an LGBTQ person, and not feeling like you have to hide your true self. Regardless of what gender others associate you with, it’s your human right to define yourself however you choose, if even at all. It’s really all about feeling proud in your skin.
We produced this project with a particular type of team to achieve the emotional impact we were after with our editorial and video interview. Our model Rayne Nadurata was cast because they themselves are a poster child and advocate for gender fluidity. Having Rayne part of our project gifted us a very honest and heartfelt interview, further diversifying our project’s reach by providing content for Refinery29’s online readership as well. We scouted the perfect venue to tell our story and cast a set designer that truly depicted different prom scenarios. We also filmed a behind the scenes, sneak peek into our shoot day and set-up as additional content to share with our audience.
This project resulted in the best performing piece of content during the month it was released for Refinery29, accumulating over 1 Million views & impressions.
